Life membership Criteria

A life membership is the highest award the Club can bestow on a member in recognition of service in promoting the interested of the club. All financial members are eligible for the award.

Any member may make a written nomination of another member to the committee for consideration. Such as nomination would set out the grounds for proposing the member to the award. The committee may then seek, by written ballot, 2/3s majority support of members at an AGM or Special General Meeting.

The Life Member receives written notification and a form of recognition of the award.

Life members are eligible to attend all committee meetings and are granted free annual membership.

Criteria for recommending a candidate to an AGM would include:

  1. Length of club membership (minimum of 10 years)

  2. Continuous service to the club in a variety of ways over and above that of the average club member. These could include

    • Multiple terms on the Committee

    • Consistent involvement in judging matters

    • Considerable support of Club show (trading table, displays, show rosters, money handling etc)

    • Variety of roles (photographer, projectionist, popular plant voting, newsletter items, prize donations, helping new members etc)
